Is May 21 Judgment Day?

According to a GMA TV news headline I read last Thursday, a US-based Christian group began preaching the end of the world - on May 21, 2011 at sunset to be exact.

Prior to this news, (which I didn't know then, by the way) I was having some personal problems 2-3 weeks ago. They were so strong that I decided to fast and pray about it. I was strengthened afterward. This happened during the time Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding and the next day's Beatification of Pope John Paul II. Something with those events struck me as strange, reminding me of end-time message seminars I've attended in 1999.

(I wish I could share some more of my insights in this, but I do not want to mislead people. Many people are already led astray today by those who misuse figurative prophecies in the Bible. I do not want to add more to that. )

Anyway, just would like to share the websites I visited via Google. These are all just for info, only by reading God's Word could we discern if their claims are true:

Family Radio by Harold Camp (understandably the leading site on Google today regarding May 21 )

May 21, 2011 is not the day. It could be any day even, it's that near. "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" - Mark 13:32
We should be happy that Jesus is coming soon. The signs are so evident that these are the birth pains mentioned in the Bible.

From the recent calamities and wars, I've been concerned with my friends and relatives in all places affected. I thank the Lord that He has kept them safe. There are still so many people who are not prepared for the Second Coming, and I include them in my prayers. I also pray for people who accepted Christ yet are now so-called "backsliders" (I honestly do not like that term). I used to be a backslider, and it was the worst chapter of my life, it was by constant prayers and God's restoration and grace that led me to go back. At this time, I am humbled and admit, yes, it's difficult because of the trials - especially those that hit hard, but God is alive and helps us overcome. As our minister would say, it's not how many times you fell but how many times you got up to finish the good fight of faith.

Tuesday Couch Potatoes - Life Is Beautiful

Photobucket

Life Is Beautiful is one of the top 100 movies on my list. I promise you, you'll love it too. It has a positive message despite the odds that were caused by discrimination. When I first watched this in 1998, I was drawn to it because the scenes remind me of the photos from my father's childhood in Germany during World War II.

Here is the plot summary courtesy of Wikipedia

The first half of the movie is a whimsical, romantic, somewhat slapstick comedy set in the years before World War II. Guido Orefice (Roberto Benigni), a young Italian Jew, arrives in Arezzo where he plans to set up a bookstore, taking a job as a waiter at his uncle's hotel.Guido is both funny and charismatic, especially when he romances a local school teacher, Dora, saying she is beautiful like the morning sunrise (portrayed by Benigni's actual wife Nicoletta Braschi). Dora however comes from a wealthy, aristocratic, non-Jewish Italian family. Dora's mother wants her to marry a well-to-do civil servant, but Dora falls instead for Guido where he ends up stealing her away at her engagement party from her aristocratic and arrogant fiancé. Several years pass in which Guido and Dora marry and have a son, Giosuѐ (Joshua) (Giorgio Cantarini).Dora and her mother (Marisa Paredes) are estranged due to the unequal marriage. Later on, a reconciliation takes place just prior to Giosuѐ's fourth birthday.

In the second half of the film, World War II has already begun. Guido, Uncle Eliseo and Giosuѐ are forced onto a train and taken to a concentration camp on Giosuѐ's birthday. Dora demands to be on the same train to join her family and is permitted to do so.In the camp, Guido hides his son from the Nazi guards, sneaks him food and tries to humor him. In an attempt to keep up Giosuѐ's spirits, Guido convinces him that the camp is just a game, in which the first person to get 1,000 points wins a tank. He tells him that if he cries, complains that he wants his mother, or says that he is hungry, he will lose points, while quiet boys who hide from the camp guards earn 1,000 points.

Guido convinces Giosuѐ that the camp guards are mean because they want the tank for themselves and that all the other children are hiding in order to win the game. He puts off Giosuѐ's requests to end the game and return home by convincing him that they are in the lead for the tank. Despite being surrounded by rampant misery, sickness and death, Giosuѐ does not question this fiction because of his father's convincing performance and his own innocence.Guido maintains this story right until the end when, in the chaos caused by the American advance, he tells his son to stay in a sweatbox until everybody has left, this being the final test before the tank is his. After trying to find Dora, Guido is caught, taken away and shot dead by a Nazi guard, but not before making his son laugh one last time by imitating the Nazi guard as if the two of them are marching around the camp together.

Giosuѐ manages to survive and thinks he has won the game when an American tank arrives to liberate the camp. He is reunited with his mother, not knowing that his father has been killed. Years later, he realizes the sacrifice his father made for him, and that it was because of that sacrifice that he is still alive today. In the film, Giosuѐ is four and a half years old; however, both the beginning and ending of the film are narrated by an older Giosuѐ recalling his father's story of sacrifice for his family.

I chose this movie for the Iconic Hat movie for this Tuesday because it's what we recently watched on DVD. There is a scene in this movie where Guido (Roberto Benigni) envies the hat of a gentleman and goes with his funny antics until he runs away with it! A hat in this movie, I suppose, is a requirement for modesty and a distinction or status of authority in social gatherings. I've seen so much hats in this movie, it was- after all - shot in 1939 Italy, where you can find the Italian city of Milan - where the highest quality of hats were made.

Now that's my entry at the drop of a hat! :)

Music Monday - Hallowed Be Thy Name by Steve Kuban

I'm overwhelmed with gladness to find this song on Youtube. Am surprised actually that Steve Kuban's videos are there too. Thank the Lord for modern technology!

I love this song, it brings back wonderful memories of all the revival conferences I've been to during the seemingly most difficult times (as I saw it) in the late 90s. This song is a reminder after all these years, that I was able to overcome, just as Jesus has promised (John 16:33)

To God be the glory!

Steve Kuban – Hallowed Be Thy Name

Hallowed be Thy Name
Jehovah God You reign
And You will never change, O Lord
Forever You're the same

Jehovah-Jireh
You supply my every need
Jehovah-Rapha
Perfect health You give to me

Jehovah-Shalom
You're the One who gives me peace
Jehovah-Rohi
My faithful Shepherd leading me

Jehovah-Mekaddesh
You're the One who makes me clean
Jehovah-Tsidkenu
Imparting righteousness to me

Jehovah-Nissi
Lord, You reign in victory
Jehovah-Shammah
You are always there for me

Manny Pacquiao Wins Again!

Photobucket

Yes!!! Manny Pacquiao did it again!!

It's another triumph from the Pacquiao Vs Mosley bout today, as our country shares in his victory.

Manny "PACMAN" Pacquiao's fight this time had an illusion of a jittery beginning for the nation. We've watched the live weighing-in on TV5 and I heard exclaims that "Alanganin si Manny.." from some. They say that because of their impression that Mosley looks in top shape and may finish off Manny by a knock out.

Being the only woman in the house, I am not well-versed in the boxing terminologies. But as I watched the first 3 rounds this Pacquiao vs Mosley fight, my heart was in my throat :) Why so? Because I was also affected by the news I read and heard that some countrymen do not get his vote in this fight and would rather bet on the other boxer. And I was also scared that he might not make it this time, yes, I'm intimidated by the news.

But look, Manny Pacquiao is not! He is relaxed, relying on the Lord to move in his favor, and just doing what he's been called to do... to WIN!

As I watch Manny Pacquiao's every bout over the years, wow, I also grit my teeth (hehe) and say a little prayer for him that he wins and keeps on showing the world that here is an ordinary Filipino who rose to doing something extraordinary!

The Philippines is proud of you, Manny!

God bless you, Manny, you are a blessing to others!

Find A Caller's Location With Reverse Phone Lookup

I've been using this nifty app for months now. I find it easy to search a missed phone call's location. It comes in handy when you get missed calls on your mobile phone with caller ID. After I check the location of a caller, I then proceed to call him/her using my Skype Unlimited Call.

So now it's fairly easy connecting with everyone!

The widget searches public and premium listings. White Pages APIs are used for locating numbers. Unpublished and mobile numbers can be viewed via specialized directories while landline numbers are traced via public databases.

Let's Learn All About Blogging

So many changes, so many changes!
As you would notice, I changed my URL to a new one by just deleting those dashes to separate the words. Even if doing so would mean I would start all over again in building pagerank and backlinks. Even if doing so would affect my SEO thingie. See, I am also confused with the terminologies of blogging!

Did you know that I've blogged for quite a long time, yet just went on without a guide except what I noticed in other blogs which made me say, "Aha! I want one of those!" And so I did. But I owe huge thanks to all the friends I met online and who have, in one way or another, helped my page rank get to PR2. (oh, yeah, now I'm back to PR0 - but that's okay!)

So to everyone who reads this blog post, please don't miss to download the ebook I share. I think we could glean a lot from this ebook. Kindly let me know the new ideas you get when you read it, and how it has helped. Feel free to leave a comment here, and I'll surely check out your blog too!

How to Convert Your Pdf File To Epub For PC Tablets

Every once in a while, I receive messages inquiring of the format of the ebooks I have available. So here is my common reply- these ebooks on list are generally in Adobe Reader or .pdf format. (I do have a few ones in .html format, but then, those are easily convertible to pdf or notepad .txt)

Then the next question usually will be, can you have them sent to me in .epub format for my pc tablets? And to this, I would apologize due to my busy life's time constraint. But the good news is, you can convert the pdf file/s yourself by getting hold of the available software online.

So here, let me direct you to a few :

PDF to Epub Converter Download from CNET, which, according to experience is a safe dl site.

I hope that one day I can also try what format works for each pc tablet and what doesn't when I soon win that Kindle Wireless Reading Device, fingers crossed :)

The Deception of the Twilight Series

If you've noticed lately, I've had to stop offering some ebooks with occult themes and the like, no matter if they are bestsellers or in-demand. I just have to say no.

I recently deleted some ebooks and ebook bundles from my list because I strongly believe they are more of a detrimental nature than good. I'm hoping you will view the video above which was shared to me by a friend. Your comments are welcome.

Music Monday - Each Passing Night

It was again by chance that I heard this song in front of a discount store the other evening, and it struck me sentimental when I heard it again. I love Gary V's songs, especially his songs from the 80's. I love his songs more too when they are worship songs. They bring me to tears, really.

With "Each Passing Night", though, it has a different story for me. I remember playing this hit's cassette tape together with Gary V's other songs while I was reviewing for my thesis subject and completing my research work. This song kept me awake while reviewing for my exams. I remember another combo that I had when I was reviewing - the nuts and coffee! I didn't need memory-boosting vitamins anymore with all that, indeed. Back again to this sentimental song, yes, it left me good memories of passing with flying colors in my thesis subject. It's meaning was so positive and soothing for me, as it still is now. Thanks Gary V! May God bless you always!

Enjoy listening, happy MM!

Each passing night
I try and close my eyes
But thoughts of you
They wake me up
And tear me inside out

Each passing night
I ask myself who's right
And try to find the reasons why
It had to end that night

Didn't we share each other's dreams
We held each other tight
Ang tears fell from my eyes
As you walked and left me here
Like the wind you passed me by
I try but I can't see
If it's something that I said
Baby please won't you tell me now
'Cause it gets harder each passing night

I often pray
That you'd come back and stay
We've had too much together
To ever live a part
I'll wait and see
'Cause I know and I believe
Someday you'll come to realize
What you and I can be

Then we'll share each other's dreams
We'll held each other tight
Kiss the tears that burn my eyes
'Cause you walked and left me here

Like the wind you passed me by
I try but I can't see
If it's something that I said
Baby, please won't you tell me now
'Cause it gets harder each passing night

I never meant to hurt your heart this way
Sooner or later
There'd be someone else who'd stay

Didn't we share each other's dreams
(share each other's dreams)
You tear me inside out
(and tears fell from my eyes)
Someday you'd realize
(as you walked and left me here)

Like the wind you passed me by
(I try but I can't see)
Kiss the tears that burn my eyes
(Baby please won't you tell me now)
'Cause it gets harder each passing night
(I try but I can't see)
I try but I can't see
(Kiss the tears that burn my eyes)
Please tell me baby
(Please won't you tell me now)
'Cause it gets harder each passing night

It gets harder each passing night
It gets harder each passing night
It gets harder each passing night
Let your love bring back the light

Music Monday - Your Song

This song gives me goosebumps now that I hear it again!

I honestly don't know what song to post for Music Monday today, I am thinking along the lines of something related to my hubby and I's 17th anniversary. It could be "I Remember You", or could also be "Against All Odds". But I wanted something new, something that we both like. Then just 3 days ago, my friend/cousin/classmate Mars , the realty specialist, posted the lyrics on her facebook wall:
"So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen"
... to which I commented back, "Hey, mapapakanta ako nyan, Mars! It's from a favorite movie Moulin Rouge"

This morning, I heard the song again when it was sung by TV5's Sapul Sa Singko main hosts. Got that as a sign,so now I'm posting :)

Let me share the lyrics, originally by Elton John...

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

I love the movie, that is why I love the song! Happy MM!

Not Offered

There have been recent changes to my list of ebooks I'm sharing with others. Beginning this April some ebooks - as per takedown request- are no longer available. This also applies to some ebooks that I deem categorized as wiccan, occult, pro-homosexual and other similar ebooks.
I simply halt the distribution of these through my blog and sulit.com.ph site, because of my personal beliefs. I do not support ideas about alchemy, astrology and the like contrary to Christian faith. Please respect this sudden change, I believe this is for the better in everyone.

What led me to do so is because I was surprised when someone texted me about ebooks by this and that author and if I have other wiccan books. I asked myself, "I have those kind of ebooks?" I realized this was getting out of hand! Usually, texters and netizens just let me know what ebooks they would like me to search for or put on my offer list and, not knowing, I simply search and send. Without moral responsibility, it seems, that I am in part teaching bad things by offering those ebooks.

For this, my apologies.

No longer available:
Sweep Series
Stephen Covey
Trudi Canavan
Ursula Leguin
Harry Potter
Twilight Series
Timothy Leary
Rachel Caine
Rachel Vincent
Philip Pullman
Angie Sage
Angela Knight
Amanda Quick
Anne Bishop
Vampire Diaries

In saying this, I will continue to provide self-help ebooks for sharing and more.

Dictionary Ebooks

Summer is definitely felt and it would be wonderful to visit the beaches during weekends to cool off! If only there isn't a nuclear scare report in the Philippines I suppose we would go :(

So whilst we are waiting for the closing exercises to commence this April 5th, my young boys are mostly at home now - keeping busy with chores, watching tv shows, reading good books, learning more about digital photography and the latest, having spelling quizzes at home.

Where do I best get new words for spelling? A-ha! The dictionary it is! Whether online dictionary, pocket dictionary, encyclopedic dictionary or ebook dictionary, we'll be having a blast discovering new words!

For this day, I gladly share different kinds of dictionaries I have for download...

MM- Oceans Will Part by Hillsong

I love this worship song, it echoes my thoughts this month - indeed!

There are times in my life that I have doubts, especially in solving long-standing problems. I feel in my spirit that the Lord wants me to take that first step and act by faith. In this song I envision that, as I take that first step, all things regarding my issues will open up favorably. That is my hope, that is by faith.

It indeed took me more than a month to meditate on God's Word most importantly because it had to do with some fixing in me personally for my fears. I recall the moment, in the book of Exodus, when Moses parted the Red Sea - the sea did not open up, not until they took that first step into the water. Sheer faith, illogical as it may seem.. but that is how God works. His instructions differ to each and everyone, we cannot question. It is simply God's opportunity to prove that He is powerful!

I can't say what it is I'm going through in detail, I'm sorry, but it has something to do with some papers I need to get sorted - yet due to lack of funds I've dilly-dallied. Took me years to make my needs known to relatives and thankfully they've offered help. I just need to take that first step and trust the Lord, continue to pray for His guidance.

Happy MM, everyone!

Music Monday - Heart Of A Servant by City Harvest Church

For a change of pace, I'd like to share this song we often sing at church during worship. It echoes our very thoughts of surrendering to God's will despite any circumstance.

These past few days I've noticed God's wake up call for change. I am in awe of how precious life can be in the midst of the world's turmoil. But we must be glad, that Christ came to this earth to save, to give us a good life. Christ also overcame this world for our sake, so we need not worry but simply surrender to His guidance.
