I strongly believe that if we can make a concerted effort to care for our environment, it will also be kind to us.
This book by Lewis Carroll was one of those books I read as a fifth grader in completion of a required book report in school. Back then, after I indeed read the book, yet thought that a book report meant copying the 1st paragraph and the last paragraph of the story, then adding the book cover description in the middle of those two paragraphs. Noticed that everyday the temperature is getting hotter and hotter in the Philippines? School is not yet out but it feels like an early summer for us. Despite what the weather reports and El Niño updates say, I love summer as always!
Summer for us here in the province is a time to build, to plant and even to pause and breathe awhile from the daily necessities of kids in school. (Vacation soon, yey!) Best yet is the time spent together with family during visits to the nearby beach!
I always have happy memories of summer being the "tourist" that I used to be :) Reading books, hanging out with friends, going to the movies, listening to the radio and yes, how could I forget, eating halo-halo to cool off. Hmm, I miss those carefree summer days, yet the happy feeling is always here! ^_^
I'd like to share favorite songs about summer that I gathered last year. A few are not really about summer but they were played on the airwaves once upon a summer.
Surfin' USA by The Beach Boys
Summer Nights by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John
The Heat Is On by Glenn Frey
Summer of '69 by Bryan Adams
Cruel Summer by Bananarama
I Remember You by Skid Row
Desert Moon by Dennis Deyoung
hehe, I admit I'm an 80's person ^_^
